Yankees-Rays ALDS Opens With a Gerrit Cole Vs. Drew Rasmussen Showdown

The New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are set to clash in the opening matchup of their American League Division Series. Gerrit Cole takes the mound for New York, having successfully returned following Tommy John surgery after sitting out the previous season.

Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay squad counters with Drew Rasmussen, who put together an impressive campaign and boasts strong historical numbers against the Bronx Bombers. Tampa Bay secured home-field advantage at their newly renovated home park after earning a top seed in the conference.

The franchise is looking to break a postseason series drought that has lasted since their pennant-winning run.
