India squad for West Indies ODIs, LIVE Updates: Rohit Sharma likely as Agarkar prepares ‘thank you’ note for BCCI

India's selection committee convenes in Delhi on Wednesday, September 16, to finalize the roster for an upcoming three-game home ODI series against the West Indies that starts on September 27. The matches serve as early preparation toward the 2027 ODI World Cup, but the squad will miss both vice-captain Shreyas Iyer and pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah because of overlapping commitments at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli is set to return to the side as an ODI-only competitor.

The Delhi meeting could mark the conclusion of Ajit Agarkar's three-year stint leading the selection panel, with reports indicating he has drafted a letter expressing gratitude to BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia. Agarkar's anticipated departure adds significant intrigue to Rohit Sharma's international prospects, potentially boosting the veteran's chances of remaining in the one-day setup.
