England claimed an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match series against Sri Lanka after securing a six-wicket victory in the second T20I. Sri Lanka batted first and posted 145 for 9, anchored by Pathum Nissanka's team-high 37 alongside a 56-run opening partnership with Lahiru Udara, before Liam Dawson claimed 3 for 32 alongside two wickets apiece from Jofra Archer and Jamie Overton.
England then raced to the target in only 12.1 overs, led by Tom Banton's 24-ball 52.
The run chase also saw Jos Buttler enter the record books by compiling a rapid 30 off 16 deliveries. That effort took his career tally to precisely 15,000 runs across 528 T20 appearances, making him the first cricketer ever to hit that milestone.
In doing so, he surpassed West Indian veteran Kieron Pollard, who previously held the top mark with 14,999 runs across 742 matches.
