During media day activities, head coach Steve Kerr addressed the Golden State squad regarding their persistent struggles with giving up possession during the previous campaign. Having finished with the third-highest rate of lost possessions across the league last year, the franchise faces an increasingly narrow margin for error amid various player absences.
In previous seasons, the coaching staff permitted veteran ball-handlers Steph Curry and Draymond Green a combined allotment of five or six errors per contest due to their heavy usage. However, Kerr announced that this extra allowance has officially been rescinded, requiring both veterans to tighten their ball security in order to help the team succeed.
