Yankees news: Anatomy of an offensive explosion

The New York Yankees swept their Wild Card Series against the Boston Red Sox by pushing across eighteen combined runs through an unconventional mix of bunts, base hits, and home runs. Spencer Jones sparked a Game Two blowout by hustling on a dropped third strike before stealing both second and third bases.

Meanwhile, captain Aaron Judge continues rehabbing a calf strain and hopes to join the team for the upcoming ALDS matchup against Tampa Bay. To prepare for the next round, manager Aaron Boone successfully utilized a bench-heavy roster strategy during the opening series, though roster limits may force adjustments ahead.

New York will open the ALDS facing tough pitching from Drew Rasmussen.
